What types of hair can be straightened using YUKO?
«Most hair types are suitable although Afro-Caribbean hair may not be. It is advisable to have a consultation with the stylist performing the Yuko straightening beforehand. They will be able to tell you if the Yuko straightening system is suitable for your hair.
Is coloured hair suitable for YUKO straightening?
«Generally yes it is. We recommend that if the hair is going to be coloured, it is done at least two weeks before or two weeks after the Yuko straightening is done. Highlighted hair may or may not be suitable. It is not suitable for bleached hair, try the Brazilian Blowout. The condition of the hair will be assessed by a stylist before the Yuko straightening is done.
How often should I have the YUKO straightening done?
«The average time between straightening treatments is 4 – 9 months. Hair texture and speed of growth amongst other factors will determine how often you should have your hair straightened.
How long does YUKO straightening at Synergy hair salon in Redditch take?
«This largely depends on the length and thickness of your hair but you should expect to be in the salon for around 4-7 hours.
Will I still have to blow dry my hair?
«After having YUKO straightening you will be able to ‘wash and go’. Once re-growth occurs you may find it necessary to style the new growth. You may also want to run straighteners through it quickly to achieve a super sleek finish.
Is there anything I shouldn’t do with my hair after a Yuko treatment at Synergy?
«For 48 hours after having the straightening done you should avoid doing anything with your hair that you would not want to remain there, e.g. crimps from rubber bands, clips and hats. You should not wash your hair for the first 48 hours after the YUKO straightening. You should not colour your hair for at least 2 weeks after having the straightening done.
Do I have to use special products afterwards?
«We recommend the use of YUKO home care products. They have been designed for use after YUKO straightening to maintain the condition of your hair. You will be given full aftercare on your first visit.
